Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy
Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy involves removing 3/4 of the stomach, restricting food intake, reducing hunger and alters the neurohormonal pathways and improves metabolism.
Single Anastomosis Gastric Bypass
The Omega Loop mini gastric bypass (MGBP) works by removing a larger portion of the stomach and bypassing approximately 1.5-2 metres of small bowel. This restricts food intake, reduces hungers and reduces absorption of food.
A large part of the stomach is removed to create food intake restriction. The small stomach pouch is created is then connected to the small bowel, bypassing a segment of small bowel to restrict food absorption and thereby reduces the calorie intake.
Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band
The LAP-BAND® System involves placing a band at around the proximal part of the stomach to reduce food intake.
Intragastric Balloon - ORBERA
The ORBERA® is a weight loss program that involves the placement of a balloon into the stomach via endoscopy under light sedation. The balloon limits food intake. The balloon is removed after 6 months. This is a reversible weight loss procedure.
